Community Blood Drive: Be a hero and donate blood today! The RI Blood Center will be holding a drive today from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the auditorium of Coventry High School (40 Reservoir Rd.).

CCFD Special Budget Meeting: The Central Coventry Fire District Special Master Richard Land will hold a Special Meeting of the district tonight, Mar. 26, 2013 in the auditorium of the Coventry High School (40 Reservoir Rd.). Voting will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 7 p.m. Taxpayers do not have to stay for the presentation if they have already voted. The Revised Proposed FY2012-2013 budget and resulting tax levy/rate will be presented and voted on by taxpayers. Click here for the budget and more information.

School Committee Meeting: The Coventry School Committee will meet this evening at the School Administration Offices (1675 Flat River Rd.) tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss the Oak Haven Early Learning Plan, All Day Kindergarten and more. Click here for tonight's agenda.

Student Early Release: Today is an Early Release Day for Coventry Public Schools to allow teachers additional Professional Development time. On these days, CHS schedules are switched so all academic classes (periods 5,7,8) meet and advisory (period 6) is missed. CHS students will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m.; ASFMS at 11 a.m.; Blackrock/Tiogue/Western Coventry at 11:30 a.m. and Hopkins Hill/Washington Oak at 12 p.m. In addition, Due to busing considerations, there will be no Pre-K (a.m. or p.m.) and no PM Kindergarten.

Wantaknowhow 2013 Scholarship: The Wantaknowhow Garden Club is currently accepting applications for its 2013 Scholarship Award. The annual scholarship is available to seniors as well as a former graduate of Coventry High School , Exeter-West Greenwich High School and The Greene School, who is actively pursuing a career in Environmental Science. Applications are available in the school Guidance offices or by contacting Peter Stetson at 821-9499. Completed application should be mailed to Wantaknowhow Garden Club, 4090 Flat River Rd., Greene, 02827 and must be received by March 31.
