The National Weather Service has issued a forecast showing a moderate chance of strong thunderstorms for Coventry this afternoon, which could bring damaging winds and hail.

The NWS forcast is calling for thunderstorms to arrive around 5 pm, with showers expected to continue through the night into last Thursday morning.
Once the rain moves out, the forecast is for sunny skies with high humidity and temperatures near 90 degrees by Thursday afternoon. The warmer weather is expected to linger until Sunday night, when a 50-percent chance of rain may also bring thunderstorms.
The chance of rain is forecast to continue through Monday night, with daytime highs in the mid-70s.
On Tuesday, sun is expected with high temps in the lower 70s.
