School's Out For the Summer! Today is the official last day of the Coventry Public Schools 2012-2013 school year, with the exception of Tiogue Elementary (last day is Tuesday due to a power outage and cancellation on Jan. 31). There is no Kindergarten or Pre-K today, grades 1-5 will be released at 11:30 a.m., ASFMS at 11 a.m., and no lunches will be served district-wide. Today is considered an exam make-up day at Coventry High School, therefore only students who need to finish exams are expected to attend.
CPL Summer Reading: Registration begins today for Coventry Public Library's Summer Reading Program, "Dig Into Reading". Children entering grades 1-5 may register online at www.coventrylibrary.org or in person. CPL librarians will track summer reading progress, offer crafts and hold special performances and events throughout the summer. Call 822-9102 for more information.
Community Blood Drive: Be a hero and donate blood today! The RI Blood Center Bloodmobile will be at Walmart (650 Centre of New England Blvd.) from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for those who wish to donate the gift of life.
Town Council Meeting: The Coventry Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. this evening in the Council Chambers at Town Hall to discuss the award of school-related construction pursuant to the bonds approved by voters last November. Click here for tonight's agenda.
CHS Attendance Policy: Coventry High School administrators will be reviewing the school's attendance policy during the summer months and are seeking several parents to serve on an attendance policy committee. If you are available for a few meetings over the summer and are interested in helping, please contact Mrs. Susan Chandler at chandlersusan@coventryschools.net.
