New Englanders can not only get Doritos Locos Tacos today for $1 but also benefit the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing in one fell swoop.
Taco Bell is offering up its fan favorite tacos, the Doritos Locos Taco, for $1 on Wednesday only. All net proceeds from the sales of the speciality taco will go to The One Fund, an organization that helps the families and victims of the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15, 2013 and the related events on April 18 and 19.
“Like everyone in Boston, when I saw the images on the news following the attacks on the Marathon, it was total shock and surprise and I knew we had to do something to help our community,” said Dan Benson, Taco Bell franchisee and Boston resident. “I thought, ‘why can’t we, as a group, join forces to make a difference,’ and I started emailing some other restaurant owners and everyone was immediately on board. The response I received was unbelievable, as Taco Bell franchisees from all over wanted to chip in and help, and employees that have already donated money couldn’t wait to do more.”
