LAC Committee: Coventry's Local Advisory Committee (LAC) on Special Education will be meeting from 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight in the conference room at the School Administration Offices (1675 Flat River Rd.). All meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in Special Education issues is welcome. See the attached file for this evening's agenda.
Summertime at CPL: Tonight at 7 p.m., Coventry Public Library will host a presentation on Summertime as it was for many at the turn of the last century. Join Rita Parisi as Mrs. Gordon as she gives a firsthand account of what it was like to spend a day at the beach in 1908 when people enjoyed dancing, vaudeville shows, bandstand concerts, rides and other entertainment. Fagan Door Scholarship: For the first time ever, Fagan Door will be awarding two deserving Coventry High School seniors each a $500 scholarship based on academic and extracurricular accomplishment. Applications must be submitted by May 31. Click here for more information or to view an application.
Plan Ahead - Community Garden Plant-Out: Get your hands dirty this Saturday, June 1 by volunteering your time at the Coventry Community Garden's 5th annual Plant-Out! More than 4,000 pounds of fresh produce has been harvested to benefit local families in need. Stop by the garden (located in front of the Town Hall Annex, 1675 Flat River Rd.) at 9 a.m., equipped with shovels, trowels, weeding tools and baskets (be sure to label your tools as many look alike).
